The holidays seemed a little more magical this year. I have always loved Christmas. When I was growing up my parents made sure Christmas was filled with joy, family and faith. We had so many traditions growing up. My heart was breaking thinking how this year I won’t be at home with my family – I have my own little family now! I hope to continue many of the traditions I had growing up and create some new ones too.
Every year on Christmas Eve we would meet my Grandma at church. Then after church we were allowed to open one gift! My Sister, Brother and I all slept in the same room waiting for Santa. We never actually slept… Then in the morning my Dad would set up the tripod and film the entire Christmas morning. We would make a big brunch then play with each others gifts. We always got together with our Aunties,Uncles and Cousins. The two weeks during Christmas break felt like they lasted forever when I was little! I wanted Arctics Christmas to be just as special as I remember mine being.
My Dad captured our entire childhood on a big video camera. The ones that could fit an entire VHS in them. We have so many tapes of us growing up! My sister brings them out at least once a year for us to watch. I love filming and taking pictures of Arctic as well! I feel like they are little frozen memories in time. So we decided to shoot Holiday cards. I hope this is a tradition we continue! Each year will become a little bit more magical as Arctic grows up and new cousins are added to the family!
We shot the Holiday card at Seymour Mountain and then the creation of the card was so simple! I had used Shutterfly to design Arctics birth announcement cards. I went to the website and clicked on Design Holiday cards. I loved all the holiday card options with gold foil! You can upload any image you like and write custom holiday messages. It turned out to be a beautiful little card to share with family & friends!
